Wales Garden Architectural Conservation District Guidelines:

ACTIONS THAT REQUIRE DESIGN REVIEW

• • New construction

  • Actions that alter the exterior appearance of a building

  • Additions/Enclosures visible from the public right-of-way

  • Fences/Walls

  • Driveways/Parking areas

  • Demolition/Relocation

  • Signage

ACTIONS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE REVIEW

• • General maintenance and repairs that do not alter the exterior appearance of a building.

  • Painting and color

  • Work not visible from the public right-of-way

  • Interior work

A work permit obtained by a contractor or a homeowner for a house project in Wales Garden will trigger a review by a City Planner who will make recommendations to the City’s Design Development Review Commission (DDRC), which must approve the project at one of its regular monthly meetings.
